Being an extroidinary student in the Academy and graduating at a young age of six, her family prized her and considered to be the next prodigy, such as Kagai; the current leader, had been. Things repeated itself, for she also became a chunnin just a year after leaving the academy. Not only, but within her clan she was one of the best seven year old Taijutsu users. Which, was when one was considered an adult. However, although her skills were leveled an adult within the clan. This did not mean she was such, or for the matter even close. Seeing as her mind needed to mature more as well.
Nearing the age of eight her mother and father died during a war, they died protecting the Konohagakure Village. Katsumi didn't understand how that could happen, or why. After this her motivation in training and becoming stronger...suddenly ended. As did her interest in the Konoha Village. She felt as if she didn't have to do anything for the village, seeing as her parents did enough of that for it. This lead to a particular death of one of the genins she was in lead of during a A-Rank misson. During the mission she had went off, to do whatever she desired. Leaving her comrades. When she finally returned there had been a battle between her comrades and the enemy, not only had one of her fellow shinobi died in battle but so did the one that was suppose to be escorted. Mission failed.
After that mission, she had realized how selfish she had been. Soon things were turning back to how she use to be, forgiving the Village for being the cause of her parents death. However, she could never forgive herself for the extinction of one of her comrades. From that day forward, she vowled to never let another fellow shinobi die if she could do anything about it.
At the age of sixteen Katsumi became a jounin. However instead of like other Jounins, she did not take up the job of having a team. She simply continued doing missions. But having a team crossed her mind several times, but she believes that one such as herself doesn't deserve such. Hence, for the next fourteen years she was more or less a lone Jounin; whose way of the shinobi was to never let close comrades die.

With this the Dyuubi will see things in slow motion, when in all reality everything is actually going the normal speed. While seeing things in slow motion, it helps the user greatly during combat. Which is why most members are high ranking ninja.
